The future of logistics is paved with innovation and technology. In 2016, many businesses are looking for smart ways to condense supply chain waste and innovate the entire industry. The size of the logistics industry needs to constantly grow to become better as a whole. 2 Flow created the infographic below that indicates that over the next several years, many trends will transform logistics operations, particularly in emerging markets. These statistics used within the infographic are based on research carried out by 3PL Selection and Contracting Survey conducted by EFT.

Logistics shippers and providers can find simple and effective ways to better manage schedule requirements, such as building slow-steaming into overseas shipment planning. Involving sales and marketing staff members in supply chain planning has also been proven to help them understand customer and product demand cycles. 3D printing, UAVs, driverless vehicles and the Internet of Things play a significant role in the emerging trends in logistics.
