Drug diversion incidents are increasing at an alarming rate. With numbers higher than ever before, people still believe that it could never happen within their facility. Choosing to ignore the issue can put both your patients and facility at risk.
The question is not “if” it will happen in your facility, but “when”. Outside companies have made strides to tackle this epidemic by providing health facilities with pharmacy automation solutions. These solutions make it more difficult for surgical technicians and radiology technologists to divert medications. Still, many healthcare facilities are not opting for these solutions.
