With today’s competitive and ever-changing business environment, companies have to keep evolving to survive. Remaining static as the world changes is a sure way of going out of business for companies.

Change is, however, not easy. And this is the main reason why so many companies that were once thriving collapse. Organisations that embrace and continuously pursue change will remain healthy and dynamic for a long time while those that avoid change will stagnate and fade slowly to their inevitable death. That’s the rule.

Challenges of change

The importance of change has never been in contention, most organisations (if not all) understand the need and importance of constantly changing to adapt to changing circumstances. Implementing change throughout the organisation is the issue.

A lot of managers and executives lack the knowledge and skills to implement change in their organisations. Without proper implementation, even the best of strategies can’t help an ailing company. Older managers are often incapable of bringing in new perspectives. Its a part of natural progression. So invariably the need for fresh blood arises. Companies have to hire younger, more updated people on board.

Such continuous change often leads to redundancy. Most of the time change affects processes and job roles making some employees redundant. This means that you will have to let go of some of your employees, not because they are not performing but because they no longer have a part to play in the organisation.
