Power generation might have been a concern for a few government agencies and electrical engineers at the turn of the last century but today it is a matter of everyone’s concern as the global energy costs are going up and shortage of power has become a very real issue. The mode of power generation may vary from traditional sources like thermo to more eco-friendly hydro to more controversial nuclear energy. The behemoths of this sector are producing tons of megawatts of energy as we are frantically trying to develop alternate and renewable energy sources which are relatively at an infant stage in the overall energy arena. As our cities grow larger and more countries increasingly become industrialized, the goal to achieve the necessary power generation capacity further falls on the hydro and nuclear power stations.
