Being the victim of a home invasion whether you are in the house itself or not when it occurs is a terrifying experience. Obviously if you are in the home while the burglary takes place your own personal security becomes your main priority and you should never approach a burglar as you have no idea if they are armed.
Knowing that someone has being going through your home and your personal items feels like a personal invasion and you end up feeling uneasy if when you reinforce your security after the event.
